You're Invited to the Frederick Heights Park Ribbon Cutting Event on Wednesday, January 23 at 11:30 a.m.  102 Potomac Place, Winchester.  I have worked very hard to get this park completed not only for residents in the Red Bud District but all of Frederick County. Please join us for this special event.

Getting things “Dunn”…One of my campaign promises was to provide Parks for recreation for our growing population.  I advocated to the Board of Supervisors that Frederick Heights Park should be developed and made functional since it had been sitting as a vacant lot for years.  They agreed.  Construction began in the spring of 2018 with the installation of a ½ mile walking trail, shrubs, grass, and a parking lot.  We hope to have picnic tables and shelters in the future.  As I was visiting the park, Red Bud constituents, Jim & Mary came to inquire about the park and were very happy with the progress.  It will officially be open in late January of 2019.

Thank you to those who attended the Town Hall meeting on Saturday, February, 17th.  We had a little over 80 people attend. I appreciate your comments and input on the affordable housing project proposed by St. Paul’s on the Hill; how to address fire and rescue needs for a growing population; and how to address future capital requests by the county and schools to find a solution that is fair and palatable to both younger families with children in school and older retirees on fixed income. If you have other suggestions to resolve these issues, feel free to contact me. Again, thank you for your input.
